an authentic farm
In the village of Partij near Wittem is the square farm "'t Wienhoes", so typical of the Limburg hills.
At the beginning of the 13th century, "'t Wienhoes" was built as a brewery farm by order of the Count of Wittem. It also served as an inn, courthouse and toll house where tolls had to be paid to the Lords of Wittem. A post office was established in the right wing at the beginning of the 17th century . Our Bed & Breakfast of the same name is located in this, now restored, right wing.
